DESCRIPTION:You undoubtedly are familiar with the situation where a federal monitor has been overseeing the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office for well over a decade.  This “oversight” has cost Maricopa County taxpayers around $350 million.   While President Trump has backed the DOJ off of local law enforcement\, this will not help MCSO because the oversight is being controlled by a federal judge.  THERE IS NO END IN SIGHT and there is no incentive for the monitor to wrap things up. \n\nHere is a link to a story recapping this situation.  https://www.azfamily.com/2024/02/24/mcso-monitor-defends-26-million-his-firm-has-been-paid/.
